Long lashes and lattes make the perfect pair at the newest boutique in Melrose, MA.
While strolling down Main Street, you'll stumble across The Beauty Cafe, which looks better suited for Rodeo Drive than the quaint feel of Melrose. This Hollywood-worthy boutique caters to the glamours celebrity hidden within all of us.
During the boutique's grand re-opening, (they recently moved from Burlington) I had the chance to sample a few of the services off the cafe's menu!
I started with a skin care consultation from Mario Badescu specialist Vicki Caira. As a bride, we all know how important it is to have that "glow" even before the big day! I got a complete regime at a price my finance.... I mean fiancee, wouldn't bat an eye at. Vicki walked me through all of the products best suited for my skin type and what I wanted to achieve with my skin. The products are amazing!!
Even though the shop is small and at this point, very busy, it maintained a very relaxed and posh aura.
Next stop was a little TLC for my tresses. Davines hairstylist, Maryann Sweeney was on hand to introduce new products by Davines as well as the other lines on the shelves. After a quick blow-out that was Sunset Blvd. worthy, it was time to tame my unruly Portuguese eyebrows!
Rita (who is also the owner's mother) was on hand to shape and style my brows in their tranquil facial/service room and provide a fun-loving chat.
The Beauty Cafe's owner, Karen DeVincent was playing double duty as event host and make-up artist. Having many years experience in cosmetics, she has done a fabulous job sharing the collection of her favorite brands to her patrons and clients.
Now the fun part... The Beauty Cafe is actually... a cafe! Grab a latte before your facial or snack on a delectable chocolate while you get your make-up done, just don't lick those lips post lip-gloss!
So here's my idea, The Beauty Cafe is THE perfect place to pamper yourself and your bridesmaids! After all, you want your girls to remember how sweet you are if by chance you turn into a total Bridezilla!
Oh, and you bridesmaids out there, reserve The Beauty Cafe as the first stop for the Bachelorette Party! You and the Bridal party can enjoy an evening of full makeup applications, beauty tips, manicures, light hor d'oeuvres and a chance to play with a variety of skincare and color.
I know that my next task will be testing out their facial services and of course, stocking up on some products!
